Jim, <Coppermines will be really cheap by the time Timmy is supposed to hit vis a vie the X-box>

Huh? Right now, there is a pretty solid floor on PC prices, like around $600 or so. (You could go lower, but then you'll end up with a *really* crappy system.) Timna is intended to lower that floor to about $500 or even less. The Timna delay is unfortunate, but I doubt Coppermine will kill off Timna by then.

As for X-Box, well, remember that all consoles are sold as loss leaders. That, plus other factors (e.g. consoles strip away a lot of components that are otherwise required for regular PCs), make X-Box irrelevant to the success or failure of Timna.

Jim, >I do believe that Intel is starting to head in the right direction with the Solano 815 and a DDR chipset for Willamette...

I lost track. Is there a DDR chipset for Willamette in the works? Native, no MTH?
