Joe,

Given a choice of a really crappy low end system with Timna and Xbox with Coppermine and excellent graphics at prices subsidized by MSFT, INTC and game royalties, I think many people will decide to go with cheaper and better Xbox.

OTOH, Sony Playstation 2 may establish a platform before Microsoft gets the Xbox on the market. That would be my bet.

Joe, <I think many people will decide to go with cheaper and better Xbox.>

Can you do word processing on an X-Box? Can you run Quicken or MS Money on X-Box? Can you even run any applications meant for the PC on an X-Box?

The X-Box is going to be a game console, not a PC replacement. Timna is going into PCs. Two different markets, two different products. Although the idea of consoles replacing PCs have won a lot of press (not to mention the paranoia of Intel), it's safe to say that PCs will be around for a long time.

You are trying to compare apples to oranges here. Or do you plan on throwing out your PC once X-Box arrives?
