Harvey - most of my investment gains between 1996 and 1999 were based on heavy investment in 4 stocks - MSFT, INTC, DELL and CPQ. I started shifting those in late 1998, selling some CPQ and DELL and buying JDSU, TYC, CSCO, NOK, CIEN, in and out of PFE. Probably did not move quickly enough but I am pretty conservative... CPQ, DELL, and MSFT collectively now represent less than a third of my portfolio. I substantially increased my investment in both INTC and CSCO when I sold puts, and the stock was put to me. So far that is working out. Also added a big LEAP position in QCOM and SUNW.

I think that MSFT's demise is greatly exaggerated and that the doom and gloom does not reflect the reality of the market and customer buying patterns, which will sustain MSFT for many years to come no matter what the legal outcome.
