Spot price of 64M DRAM approaching $8 level
Spot market prices of 64M DRAM memory chips are approaching $8 per unit. Market watchers said yesterday that in the North American spot market, 8M x 8 PC100 synchronous chips, the mainstay of Korean exports, traded at $7.25-$7.69 per piece.

"If the upward trend continues, chip prices will reach $8 soon," an analyst said. Prices of 128M DRAMs are also on steady rise. In particular, 16M x 8 PC133 synchronous DRAMs sold for $14.65 to $15.53 per unit yesterday, up $1.03 from the other day.
