I'm having a hard time seeing exactly where the uniqueness will stem from. For example: Island is neck-in-neck with Instinet for volume and liquidity, has 315 clients now as opposed to 130 a year ago (following their push into the institutional trading market), and has let retail individuals (both daytraders via subscription and through Datek) hit their book for years now.

I'm interested in seeing what other unique, differentiating services and features they offer. Instinet does have some neat research, which I suppose they could make available to customers. But to bank on the liquidity of the book alone, IMHO, could prove too thin a strategy.
