Chic, <McKinley will probably win single-thread benchmarks, but because it lacks CMP and has far less system bandwidth it will be destroyed in a host of more important benchmarks (for servers).> I don't think it's as simple as saying that POWER4 will win on bandwidth alone (despite what IBM's marketing department may want people to believe). The architectures of POWER4 and McKinley/870 are so different that it'll be very tough to predict performance characteristics between the two.
