I suspect there are tangible benefits to operating under the radar. QCOM is doing just that, though not entirely at its own choosing.

There can be benefits for us as investors or traders as well.

I think it's time we all write to the senior management of GE, which is the holding company of CNBC. The latter may not care about its sleaze-bag image as long as there are viewers out there, but GE does worry about people's perception of its being an all-American, quality company etc. A consumers' boycott of GE's products would not be a pleasant thought.

GE should impose a minimum standard of ETHICS on its subsidiaries, imho.
