Douglas,

What a great find re; Director demand! Finally! There is NOTHING like a sales receipt for evidence!

It has always been a mystery as to exactly when these big doggies were gonna start to go out the doors. It's great to see that time is now.

With the IBM demand at 180-200 director switches a month, i was wondering a few things and hoped someone here might have some answers...i know some are old questions, but still hope they are pertinent...

1.) Is anyone else but IBM buying these things right now?
2.) Who's next in line to be buying directors? HP, EMC?
3.) Who else has a director besides Inrange/Ancr and Mcdata? And is Mcdata's director competitive?
4.) Inrange sells a 100G Director to IBM...how much does Ancor see of that 100G again?
5.) Does IBM connect these directors to each other...and if so, how many in a typical set up?
6.) Do the IBM folks see the 190 switch order rate a month rate growing quickly (within next year) to 300 a month?

<< Sorry for the omission. We get the general idea anyway - more bucks for ANCR/QLGC with the Director ramp. Would like to see ANCR land at least one deal of their own for their Director sales. >>

True. True. This current demand is surprising to me and it means one thing for Quancalogic...WINDOW of OPPORTUNITY.
Be glad to hear anything more on the directors...

cheers
