If mining firms you own cut their production, and mining firms you do not own continue to produce at their current (or higher) levels, more of the assumed improved gold price will go to miners who continue to produce than to your firm who lowered production.

Then either your miner will increase production and bring the gold price back down, or the marketplace will revaluate your shares relative to the others and they should go down in price.

Sounds like robbing a bank by saying "give me all your money or I will shoot myself !"
