Ted,

Well the stock market tends to favor those companies with rising earnings. Currently, according to the estimates, AMD is not in that fortuitous position.

AMD has only limited control of analyst's perception of reality, and according to analysts, there will be only a modest earnings growth.

But AMD does control the reality, and in reality, AMD has had a series of rising earnings. Let's see what happens when we add another data point for Q2 2000.

Joe

Ted,

The numbers predicting AMD making less money next year Vs. this year have been so for well over a month, yet AMD has been hitting new all time highs. Your argument is not valid.

AMD's earning are currently growing in a rapid pace and I expect it will be going higher as we get closer to earnings.

Re: "I have heard that before....I wonder where.

Comment: Not sure, but idf it wasn't from me, let me say it again...AMD'll be at $120 or (much) better by July 31/00...

Re: "You say fundamentals have something to do with price. Well the stock market tends to favor those companies with rising earnings. Currently, according to the estimates, AMD is not in that fortuitous position."

Comment: Q3-($0.72), Q4 $0.43, Q1 $1.15, Q2 $1.77, Q3 $2.77, Q4 $3.77...Personally, I know of no other company that can reasonable rationalize such a steep positive quarter/quarter earnings slope...Whan the market twigs to the very possible reality that many here already comfortably predict, AMD'll be nowhere near $87...All I'm saying is we are closing in on a new gusher price wave for AMD...Almost certainly that gusher wave will have occurred by July 31...In fact, I'm thinking a rogue gusher wave will occur well before July 31/00!
