Comment re:Newspaper Article
Attached is the chairman's reply to the article in The Australian yesterday.
Sadly the article had a negative impacted on the stock price - this was reflected in the market yesterday and again today (Friday).
More damage control is required. Factual & positive news is needed.

GEO2 LIMITED 2000-06-09 ASX-SIGNAL-G
HOMEX - Melbourne

Michael West, in his Margin Call column in yesterday's Australian
newspaper, has chosen to attack Geo2 with old claims and much
misinformation. The thrust of his article is misleading and untrue.
The matter relating to the PLA contract in China has been responded
to by the company in an ASX announcement dated 24 November 1999.

The article repeats allegations by a former business associate of the
company who is currently a defendant in a defamation action in the
Supreme Court launched by Geo2. Any relationship with that associate
ended in early 1998.

Suffice to say that many of the claims now repeated by Mr West have
been circulated by the defendants to the media, the ASX and the
authorities over the last year without attracting any credible
support. The Court will no doubt resolve this dispute in due course,
Meanwhile we are taking advice as to whether the appropriate action
is to issue further defamation proceedings.

The disappointing part of Mr West's article is that he chose to
deliberately ignore the fact that Geo2 has a number of environmental
technologies and emerging businesses. Some of these, like the oil
water separator, which was developed specifically for the Royal
Australian Navy, are world first environmental technologies.
