The 261 million ounces in the US Treasury alone is worth $75 billion dollar.

How many shares of Yahoo is that?

<Someone on the clown thread just said it was less than Bill Gates MSFT stock. >

No but toss in the rest of MSFT and a YHOO or 3 and you're getting there.

There is about 4 billion ounces of gold mind in human history, which would be worth $1.1 trillion dollars

Bob,

Don't forget that the US still values its gold reserves at, I believe, $42/ounce, their average price when acquired.

I also believe the IMF gold is valued this way as well.

I saw a report yesterday on US reserves increasing and they broke down the value of US gold reserves to the tune of $10 billion, which makes sense using a $42/ounce price.

Regards,

Ron
