It is good for AMD to make as much money as it can, as fast as it can.

I know and I agree...my point was that the tax bite will be much bigger next year (because of this years big earnings)and will cut into next year's earnings which may account for the smaller consensus estimate for 2001....that, of course, is not good news.

What I am hoping is that AMD's earnings guidance for next year has not filtered down completely to the analysts who are making the estimates and that when it does, the tax issue will become specious and next year's estimate will be higher than this year's.

AMD would pay tax in Q4, now it seems that they start paying in in Q3 since they are making so much money. Making money is good. AMD is doing good.

Don't ask for a link but I read somewhere this week that they will start paying taxes this quarter.
