Did anyone see the put:call ratio today? 0.40.

The all-time one day low is 0.39.

This on a day when the DOW was down 144. We are either going to crash-city or some kind of feel-good new-era paradigm-shift secular change is occurring in the P:C ratio.

<<Community rating rules have driven up the number of uninsured in a number of states>>

Les, I agree. Community rating also drives up insurance prices, dramatically (this was seen when Kentucky passed such a law, and rates skyrocketed compared to those in neighboring states). But without community rating, why would a health insuror with a capable underwriting department cover anyone with any preexisting problems? It all becomes a huge game of cost shifting otherwise. The payor of last resort becomes federal and state governments who end up footing the bills for what is often the least efficient health delivery system imaginable: the uninsured seeking care from emergency rooms once an unattended problem goes critical. Unfortunately, I see no easy answeres, and I believe serious health inflation will be with us (in the States) for a long time to come.

Something for the NO INFLATION department.

The Financial Observer a local NYC paper June 12 edition.

Robin Williams bought an 2850 sqf apartment at 271 Central Park West, for $2.325 million, in 1994,

Sold same apartment on May 16, 2000 for $9 million.

Gain 387%

US Government reported inflation during this period? around 17% lets even say 22% over 5.5 years.

Yep there is no inflation. Go figure.

SPX in 1994 was around 450 to 460 now 1400 - 1440.

Gain 310% so stocks are the best investmetn for the long term?

I DO NOT THINK SO ........ you can not live in a "stock certificate" or even use it or enjoy it.
