Irrelevant that we're past the settlement date.

If the IRS sent you a refund check by mistake and you cashed it and it cleared, you still owe the money back.

It may not be fair, but life isn't... Why go to so much trouble for something you will eventually loose. Just buy back the shares on the open market, which are .20 cheaper than when you sold, pocket the .20 dividend, and do it all over again when they get all this straightened out and reissue the shares....Just my tidbit..
