And are the same ones who refuse to prosecute gun law violations - like Reno. Only a dozen cases out of thousands if not tens of thousands where guns were brought onto school property. That same constituency behind ultimately banning guns also argues against building prisons and incarcerating violent criminals - despite the fact that those are also proven methods of reducing crime. As TP illustrates, their arguments are nonsense when examined but they are simple and they appeal to the unthinking and emotional. And then you have clowns like O'Donnell making a huge fool of herself. I'm glad the Greenwich police exposed her - she actually attacked them because they confronted her bodyguard on school grounds. Fine for her to hire armed guards and then use her show as a forum to deny others the right to defend themselves.
