Yup, they would have been hammered by the justice department. 100 bil wouldn't have been enough.

You know what really gave me a sick feeling in my stomach the other day. Hearing that Janet Reno's justice department was celebrating with champagne after the recent ruling was announced.

I heard a report recently that Microsoft has spent 5 billion dollars defending itself so far. That's a huge sucking sound going from hard working (productive) Microsoft stakeholders, into a bunch of Washington lawyers back pocket. Undoubtedly, the same lawyers who contributed mightily to the Democrats fund raising efforts.

It's sickening to see a great American company threatened by its very own government. If Microsoft was founded and run from any other country on the planet, it would be treated like a national treasure.

Can you imagine the Japanese or German government breaking up one of their technology leaders?

If it's so tough to compete with Microsoft because of their unfair practices, why has Oracle done so well?
