Would the US public support a China v Taiwan/USA war ?

Knowing that massive and enormous deaths
and injuries would occur, with possible destruction
on USA mainland soil to non military areas,
what would be the incentive for Americans to allow
such to take place ?

I can not imagine any economic trade off for the
lost of lives and suffering that would take place.

As for China expanding and taking away
from the USA a good place to gather intelligents
about China, along with it being a military post,
why go to war with China to preserve those
aspects of a nature to prevent a war ?

So my take is that this summer another
"Wag the Dog's Tail" will really happen,
just in time to put into the rear under a
dark cover the GATA results and help
Gore get elected under the banner
"Its the War Stupid"
rather than the losing
"Its the Economy Stupid"

Seems no one here was tuned into this,
even after I mentioned that I received
a heads up at Le Metropole Cafe
about this article.
