lml- Afraid I have to plead ignorance on both fronts. Your Time Domain reference and your FCTF thread comment about backhaul charges to the RT. I've never heard of Time Domain until just now, and I don't know the details of FCC co-location rules concerning driving fiber deeper into the neighborhood. Sorry. -MikeM(From Florida)

Hi lml,

I've heard from reliable sources that Time Domain has a viable technology and the the company is getting some good VC support. The major hurdle has been on the regulatory front. There's a lot of concern on the part of DoD and the FAA among others as to the impact of UWB on GPS system performance. Applications, such as short range radar for law enforcement and disaster recovery applications are currently moving forward. The possibilities for this technology in the communications arena seem quite good, from the research I've done. I regard the involvement of US West as being a net plus to the company in the Beltropolis battles that have held back the commercial development of the technology.

Best, Ray
