Taiwan Semi's May Sales Jump 95%

TAIPEI -(Dow Jones)- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the island's No. 1 chip maker, saw sales surge 95% in May to a record 10.93 billion Taiwan dollars (US$355.8 million) from NT$5.62 billion a year before, the world's largest dedicated chip foundry said Friday.
Month-on-month, sales were up 23%. Accumulated sales for the first five months of the year amounted to NT$48.08 billion, up 106% from NT$23.36 billion during the same period in 1999.
Most listed companies are required to disclose their May sales figures by June 10.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, or TSMC (TSM), announced June 16 as the payment date for its 28% stock dividend from its American Depository Shares.
