all I did was quote what alex brown was using. they could raise their estimates, but the pe for this and other optical stocks clearly reflect the belief that published estimates are too low. the stocks and group could continue upward based purely on price momentum buying, which is one factor that got the nasdaq into big trouble earlier this year.

I agree with your analysis for several reasons. One, I don't think any analysts are factoring in the second line from PIRI. At the annual meeting Don said it would be up within 12 months. Just doing the numbers based on PIRI's current revenues using one line on one shift for only 5 days a week, ramping to 7/24, then doubling for a second line, I think you'll find growth rates considerably higher. H&Q is estimating 140% y/y rev growth for 2000, and beyond that I believe they're basing their numbers on current capacity.

Two, I doubt analysts have factored in the full extent of the extended contracts with JDSU, Corning, and I believe ALA. (They're listed in H&Q's May 26 report.)
