I was thinking class action, but my take on the groups you mention is that they are liberal, pro big government, and thus, pro Gore. Maybe I am wrong, I am just shooting from the hip. At any rate, I live in the D.C. metro area, so my room and board are already taken care of. I am afraid that directly soliciting a lawsuit would be champerty. Some state bars look the other way, but not Virginia's. It's ok to send a letter to someone you don't represent when they have a clear-cut need for a lawyer, e.g., DUI arrest, but this would be suggesting to someone that they are injured when they didn't think of it first.
