OT Pete and I were looking at it from the point of view that rent and mortgage payments are both a waste of money. The point is to minimize your payment so you can move the extra money into more lucrative investments, like AMD. chic, You happened to live in a market that is not appreciating very fast. In places like Silicon Valley, SF, Detroit, Portland, OR......people are seeing their houses double and triple in value in a couple of years. For them housing has been a very lucrative investment. ted
