Interesting article, Daniel, thanks.

I'm torn on the Microsoft case. On the one hand, I'm all for open and free business practices with competition providing the limitations to their activities. OTOH, MS clearly was able to stifle those competitive pressures, and in fact became a model for other businesses to place themselves above the marketplace in terms of customer support, growth of "tendril" businesses, and determining the direction the industry would take. So, I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.

The outcome I'm hoping for is that while all the legal proceedings take place, other companies will be able to grow to the point of being "real" competitors, and then the Supreme Court will throw out the judgement against MS. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but, HEY! it could happen! <g>

Thanks again for the article.

"...The Libertarian party is not fundamentally capitalistic "and therefore not remotely capitalistic, except in its superficial opposition to government. Fundamentally, it is opposed to capitalism, i.e., the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, and the properly circumscribed functions of government (police, defense, judiciary) to protect individual rights, because it does not stand for anything. Rather, it stands against government in an ad hoc, unprincipled, "united front."..."
