the a-team MR. T Priorities have dramatically changed for Mr. T since the former tough guy on NBC's A-Team was diagnosed with cancer (T-cell lymphoma) five years ago. "My career is not important; my health is important,", he says in his rat-a-tat-tat style. But pity the fool who thinks the "Rocky III" star is down for the count. "I am strong in the spirit," affirms the indefatigable 48-year-old, who still wears gobs of gold around his neck and makes his living through personal appearances and the occasional acting job. The father of three (Lisa, 29, Erika, 21, and T Junior, 14), T is single and lives in Sherman Oaks, California. He uses his fame to spread his inspirational message to fellow cancer patients: "I pray with them, and I hug them; I let them know that they are not by themselves," he says. T has written a book, tentatively titled Cancer Saved My Life, that he's shopping around to publishers. "I wear my cancer like a badge of courage because somebody out there needs to be inspired," he says. "Sometimes I'll leave a hospital and drive home with tears because I lifted someone.
