Yes, I've been thinking that too...
Just the way that camcorders and digital editing are changing indie films...
And digital sound-recording and mixing are changing the music industry.

One of my brothers was involved in sound studio work for years. Recently we were discussing the whole film-music industry directions and he was mentioning that a couple of thousand bucks worth of software and equipment that is available right now can do what $50K couldn't do 10 years ago...

Really turns the tables on who can or cannot "produce" these days... Doesn't necessarily mean that everyone can be an "artist", but it does make it possible for most "artists" to have access to the "the tools" regardless of financial limitations...

I just have to say that I love that thought.....
