Like the freedom to choose a stable OS, or the freedom NOT to upgrade one's PC from time to time, or the freedom avoid being bombarded by advertisement (one will have to walk the streets watching people's shoes, and even there one will find colorful trademarks and logos). You give something back with every technological advancement, sometimes it's obvious like noise and pollution, sometimes it's subtle like mailing lists and cookies. IMO a technological tyranny is a possibility, and it's a good thing we had Microsoft as a test case, to learn and prepare. ATG
