you can't have a Roth IRA
If your annual income is too high you cannot create a Roth IRA (or educational IRA). I forget the exact number 120K or 180K or something (my CPA knows these things). All my contributions to a regular IRA are post tax anyway (since I have a 401K also) so I use post tax money but still have to pay regular taxes on all the gains eventually anyway. Irks me because my current economic windfall will most likely not last for too many years and I need to setup my retirement, my kids, education, and other expenses while the good times are upon us - Much of my income was stock related.
