Mani,

There will be no 0.13 this year, currently there does not even exist qualified semi equipment for 0.13.

I'm not sure why you sound so sure about this. I am equally sure that you will be surprised. I stick by my contention the Mustang, and in particular Corvette, will be 0.13u.

Regards,
Pravin.

So where are the 1.4GHz Athlons coming from? ;^)

There will be 0.11u devices manufactured at several fabs by years end.

Re: There will be no 0.13 this year, currently there does not even exist qualified semi equipment for 0.13...

My recollection is that a slide was shown at the CC last October or November that showed production technology by year. It showed .13 starting production before the end of this year (appeared to be less than 5%).

They also showed a photograph of a piece of equipment (it might have been a stepper) that they said had been used to successfully fabricate test parts with a feature size of .10

That was more than half a year ago.

Often these things don't work out as hoped (witness the K6 and Coppermine ramps), but my conclusion is that AMD hoped to be shipping the first few .13 production parts by the end of this year.

Regards,

Dan

Not so Mani.
