V1,

Thanks. I'm just looking for good buy recommendations. I'm trying to diversify a bit although there are some large blocks I won't trade out. Like GLIA and VPHM. I still like VPHM although the market seems to have written it off. Given their IP, I think this is a major mistake and I would not be the least surprised to see a double or even a triple in that on by the end of the year. People need to understand the implications of being able to actually *treat* viral meningitis and polio. And maybe someone should remember the Andes virus. I was in Bariloche around the time it broke out.

Thanks, Torben

Sorry to barge in here but I need a little help. I have positions in both incy and glgc. Can I get some input from the group on the similarities/contrasts of both? I have all the basic info on the differences. How key is genomics vs gene expression vs protein expression? What is the inherent "must have" technology/company. Again, I am primarily interested in incy vs glgc pro's/cons/prospects.
Also interested in other pure plays. I hope to obtain several broad opinions here. Thanks in advance.
btw-yes rick , still in x

Similarly....

Vector: In the genre of bad mouthing/tanking/recovery - and in the class of 'wish I added more' - Ariad should, at a minimum, be on your radar screen. I find it kinda bewildering that, besides my constant drone of cheerleading, ARIA is essentially ignored (by those who shouldn't) on SI. The company has had a spate of positive announcements of late; the rapid recovery of the stock (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=13841166) suggests investors believe its platform may become a standard in gene therapy.

I'm not suggesting you leverage the portfolio nor sell other equities to purchase ARIA. I AM attempting to convey the idea that you take the bold and daring step of placing ARIA in your crosshairs....and then do some DD to see if my pathetic hyping has any foundation in the company's products.
