I meant CDPD, cellular digital packet data, not CPCD... don't ask.

"Was that a dream that I had? OR, did that reversal on their part actually happen? And if such relates to Cable, then why should it be any different for wireless?"

Frank- No it wasn't a dream. AOL did an about face on the access issue. They are still paying lip service to their previous plans to foil AT&T's relationship with Excite@Home, but that's about it. Their new line is, "Market forces best determine the SP/ISP relationship."

"By the way, whatever happened to FON's ION offerings for both consumers and businesses that was supposed to transform the access universe? Do you recall that one?"

Oh yes. I recall it. My guess is they forgot the detail about the Last Mile before doing the HUGE announcement. But as you know, they are finally starting to rollout MMDS. Maybe we'll hear about it more now that they got the ball rolling on access.

Or maybe ION push will be delayed further because DOJ has to protect us consumers from that big threat of free voice calls by preventing merger of Sprint/WorldCom.<g> -MikeM(From Florida)
