Elmer,

Don't know for sure. All I know is that they shipped 32 million in Q4 while depleting inventories and 32 million in Q1 with depleted inventories.

Well, that's not enough data to draw any conclusions. Why doesn't iIntel provide these numbers? What do you base your claim that the demand is too high if you don't have any data? The claim that the demand was just too high is as valid as claim that there is a production breakdown if there is no data to support either position.

Let's see

Q1 00: intel.com
** Microprocessor unit shipments were approximately flat with the fourth quarter.

As opposed to Q4 99:
intel.com
** Microprocessor and chipset unit shipments both set new records in the fourth quarter.

meaning Q1 was really below, otherwise it would have been a record quarter, as Intel reports every time it happens. What about Q2? What if Q2 is another down quarter for Intel. How will it square with the "Demand is too High"?

Re: they shipped 32 million in Q4 while depleting inventories

Are you saying now that Intel had inventories? Was there a demand problem before? Why would Intel keep any inventory? Since it is bad for AMD to have product in inventory, is it bad for Intel to have product in inventory?
