Because the boundary conditions are different between US and CH. Following Heinz's advice, the Swiss approach grafted on US would be to a) close the borders to foreign imports b) go down with interest and use the surplus to pay the foreign balance (cum grano salis).

The world and state economies are multivariate I/O black/grey/white boxes. I am sure, US & the Fed can/will keep US$ sound (whatever that means). I just dont think they will be seriouslky consider to follow Swiss (?!....) approach. There's so many things completely different.
