That's true, it could be last mile problems too .... but if your modem lacks the upgrade software then it doesn't matter which ISP you use, it will still be slow ... I switched ISP's when I was having that problem and it didn't help ...

You are probably right about the last mile, not close enough to even get real DSL, but I will take what I can get when addition done.
Meanwhile anyone read Barrons they think we go lower. Suggesting just the start of the Bear, which is good cause they never get it right.
