Vince, it's nice to see we've found an area of agreement.

I would like to explore it further, but my buddy just called and he needs some tech support with his computer. Undoubtedly, a Microbrew is awaiting me for services rendered. OUCH! Quit twisting my arm!! :)

I find the religion the most moderate of all when compared to most other major religions.

I think if you spent much time looking at Catholicism as it is managed in Latin America or the Philippines - and it has done very little to bring "civility" to those corners - you might change your mind.

After all, who could argue with the Ten Commandments.

I will let Mencken respond to that...

"Say what you will about the Ten Commandments, you must always come back to the pleasant fact that there are only ten of them."

The Catholic religion may not be perfect. It has had its share of dirtbags. But all in all it served a purpose in the development of our planet. It brought civility to all corners of the world as well as an education to the commoners. These two things alone are the pillars of our societies

Civility ?

Aja...

Destroying entire civilizations, (such as the Aztecs), is called "civilized"

Who ask these bastards to "civilize" the world in the first place ?

god ? [Whose god anyway]

And you say that the Jewish religion is "pretentious" ?

What bullsh*t !!

Man.... !!! On top of all this, They are convinced they were not "brain washed"

UFFFF !!! They piss me off soooooo !!!!!!

"A man who is an agnostic by inheritance, so that he doesn't remember any time that he wasn't, has almost no hatred for the religious."

<<<The Jews have the pretention that they are "The Chosen Ones" and all others are scum. >>>

Well, I am choosing one thing to comment on in a post that might elicit a number of comments, but it's late, and, under the influence of my own history, I have chosen the item that most disturbed and startled me.

The above statement of yours is untrue and scurrilous.

One's perspective on such things is often formed (or deformed), I'm sure you will agree, by one's philosophical background or by the religion of which one is a member (even if a currently non-practicing one) and under the influence of which one was raised.

(I am, incidentally, not Jewish. I say this so you will understand that while my feelings about this subject certainly derive from experiences I have had, among those experiences is not being a Jew.)
