Can you trade futures out of the same account, or does it require a second account? If it requires a second account, can you easily move funds between equities and futures accounts?

I do not trade futures, but the last I knew you had to have a separate account. Moving money to IB has been relatively easy, but moving an account is not. You cannot do it at present. They rely on a third party for end of day accounting, although intraday activity is instantly reflected in your account. Their highest software priority at the moment is to roll out their own back office system. When that is in place they will accept account transfers.

Now that I have the correct link, let's continue any discussion re IB over on that thread.
