What are ya'll using to do the testing or back testing?

boots... shhh... backtesting has suddenly become a dirty word here. :-(

But to answer your question, I am using Investor/RT 4.5 and just getting started with MetaStock 7.0. There's also a free Excel add-on that someone posted a link for a while back. I do not have it bookmarked, unfortunately.

Boots,

I just got done chuckling at Sam's admonition about backtesting being a no-no. I don't think it's been reduced to that around here. It surely has it's place, but not at my place <g>.

Go back over the past week's entries here, you'll pick up on what we're collectively up to. Sam currently has some awesome capabilities to backtest. So does CatLady (I also have Metastock) and they both post results.

My idea of valid "backtesting" is the eyeball method. I'm a firm believer in the KISS approach. The "S'er" it is, the better I like it!

...and yes, we frequently hold overnight. Purists act only on the signals. That's pretty much what TC was doing with a great deal of success, as posted here.
