i read it in the ny times about a week-10 days ago. should be easy to find, as the stock fell hard upon the announcement, if it wasn't 5 years but 3, the effect is the same. as i recall, china unicom did not say it was because of installation matters but because they were waiting for 3G. in my experience, when someone delays a contract 9 months or 3 years or 5 years, regardless of the reasons, the deal is dead.
