I think it's a very wonderful and symbolic dream, that's what I think. Maybe it's an old crone dream, where you are coming into the life wisdom that is yours, where the harnessing of your energies, and your "madwoman" are represented by the little dog on a leash... you have given your creativity and your inner self freedom, a controlled freedom. Nothing random or accidental. And now you are ready to pass on that wisdom to others--to younger women who need your guidance in learning to fly. Or then again, as Justin said, you might have just wanted to be a kite.
