the chart of the COMPX which you linked was not bullish engulfing. It was a Harami! Interestingly, it was a very wide harami pattern, indicative of distribution, IMO. Harami patterns do not carry the strength of reversal sticks such as hammers or engulfing patterns. The wide nature of this particular harami makes me very suspicious that it will turn into a reversal candle. Therefore, I am inclined to believe it is more of a congestion band in a downtrend.

el paradisio: The DXY has been falling, but is at a support area...see my combination charts. If the dollar continues to decline it will not be a positive for equities.

Bonds are a mixed bag...seeming to couple and de-couple! I posted back around the 18th to 20th of May that I expected bonds to rally based on my TYX work. I suspect the rising wedge on the TYX chart originating Oct 98 will likely see additional retracement.

I don't think we have seen the lows in equities, yet!
