JDN: I enjoyed your post. Agree with all you say...except the last paragraph. As a Trader I can't be concerned with the long-term...I won't be concerned with the long term...how the heck long IS the long term? And a "down period now and then" may not mean much to a long term investor...but to a trader who doesn't get out, use stops or go short...this past little "down period" has crippled and wiped out some pretty sharp people. Fortunately I wasn't one of 'em. Example: You own a few hundred shares of CTXS at 100. It may be a fine company, it may someday get to 200. But what do you do here at 22? You've seen your capital in CTXS melt by 80%. As Dortmunder would say, "I shant have it." There have been a lot of CTXS's since February. I get stopped out a lot...because I prefer not to get clobbered...though it's still possible. While I think you view will probably prevail I think too that there are times to play...times when the probabilities are in your favor. I don't think we're in that kind of market at the moment. (Lee)
