I think CU's story has been quite consistent - in that they said the current version of CDMA was bypassed, but the 3G version was still in. The problem was that they said all this not in one breath, but two, thus creating opportunities for those who had their own agendas.

It's mainly the US financial press who made a mess of it by misinterpretation - either deliberately or out from stupidily.
