Somehow I do not anticipate a 1X MC upgrade for Europe, or China. The China thing has confused investors coming and going. The original "real deal"--the 10-million-subscriber IS-95 network buildout that was to commence this year--is dead. In its place, some Chinese makers have said they will build MC prototypes with QCOM's help. That is the here and now, and it will not generate any revenue. Seems like there will be a long window of press releases relating to China, without any near-term revenue prospects.

In the meantime, there are the negotiations in Korea. We know DoCoMo is tight with SK Telecom, but many QCOM supporters seem to think Korea is a slam dunk for cdma2000. I prefer to "follow the money"--that money being DoCoMo. I would not be surprised to see these two giants of Japan and Korea--DoCoMo and SK--standardize on the same 3G technology; i.e., W-CDMA. I would also find their press releases more credible than those issued out of China.

Wishful thinking. Keep 'em gems coming, Johnnie. And easy on the ad hominem atacks, boy.

Didn't he recent QCOM press reease pointed out that QCOM's CDMA could easily be installed as an air interface over GSM. I know that VOD and Q dig some work a few month's ago to prove this out. This approach can probably be used to help Europe move into modern communications technology fairly rapidly.

2) Would opening Europe to MC CDMA help better spread the wireless market to France, Germany and Britain? Why should the rest of their Europeans die for their nordick Finnish and Swedish brothers. Why not have a fresh start where all countries have a chance to see their favorite wireless mfg companies take a share in the market. To accomplish this, simply use QCOM ASICS and reference designs. If the Chinese can do it, then surely the French and Germans can do it.

ROFLMAO.
