LOL, pretty much everyone in this thread is bullish on AMD and bearish on RMBS, me included.

I agree with your hedging idea. If RMBS does poorly, then AMD should do well, for now. But if Intel drops RMBS, or concentrate less on RMBS then the hedging idea is no longer valid. Apparently Intel is stopping all work on a RDRAM mobile chipset, so maybe it is just starting.

I like AMD by itself at the current price.
