40 billion dollars to effect the break up of Microsoft.
So I have read, but not believed, since software companies could be started from scratch for maybe 1 billion each (most for a few million). I suppose if Bill get peeved and dumps his shares in a block it could remove that much market cap from Microsoft. A graceful breakup will lead to much higher valuations for the 2 companies, which is why I still have my MSFT shares.
