"The bottom line is that, as I see it, is that if you choose to go out onto the public virtual ROW's, your Internet provider will have control of what you see, experience, have choice of, as you begin your excursion."

lml- Aren't you confusing "content" with provider? I believe ALL providers have made it clear that they will allow un-tethered access to the Internet with it's hundreds of millions of destinations, irregardless of what ISP they choose to team up with.

A browser is a browser. ISPs or SPs don't have any type of lock on the browser. With the exeception of when you first load their generally poor software package. But like I said, Pop! You can change your home page in a second and never know your ISP by name.

I've had cable modem for two years and I never viewed a Roadrunner home page or a Worldwind home page(whoever they are). Both are ISPs.

I think you and I are crossing signals and I would like to know why you think whoever my ISP is, controls my morning walk(although I have a home office<g>) to the garage to drive away? What am I missing about the importance of ISPs other than an on-ramp to the Internet? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
