NOBODY can perform as well as an index

All the more reason to invest in index funds, no?

Did you notice in the Russell 2000 re-shuffle announced last Friday they are adding nearly 700 new stocks to the index (the average turnover is 500+). Last year they dropped a whole bunch of E&P companies to add some dot-coms. This year they dropped some of the dot-coms that are going bankrupt to add the E&P companies that are performing better.
