OT...that's certainly the contrarian position to take. pre-emptive global warming efforts to forestall the global cooling expected to result from future meteorite hits...LOL!

**OT**

Your narrow focus on temperature fluctuations belies your ignorance of the subject on which you speak. It is the loss of the ozone layer, which serves to capture dangerous UV radiation, that underlies the dangers to the ecosystem. The lack of UV capture results in a destruction of phytoplankton respondible fo the vast majority of O2 synthesis. The increased incidence of UV radiation also serves as a magor source of damage to genetic material necessary for the replication of ALL life forms on the planet. And, contrary to popular science fiction, genetic mutations do not lead to the evolution of funny, pizza eating, super-competant reptiles, capable of solving all problems through the ancient techniques of martial artists. <ggg>
