... someone ... please, answer my question ... Haim, I asked for an answer to a specific question ... not for your response telling me how smart you are and how naive and uneducated I am ... perhaps you think I am not bright enough or well educated enough to participate here ... which may be true ... Haim, please, do not respond to me again ...

... question to all ... where can I follow the daily balance of 'shorts' in the S&P 500 Index?

... I think I found a weekly figure on Page MW65 of the June 12 Barron's under "Options" - "Stock Index Options: Weekly Summary" which shows 1,007,893 Open Interest under Calls and 988,971 Open Interest under Puts ... could someone explain what these figures mean and what analysis can be applied to them ... or are there better numbers for me to look at somewhere else?

... a friend told me last week that shorts in the S&P futures are extremely high, in fact higher than they have been since 1996 ... an indication, in his opinion that institutions are building larger and larger short positions ... I will not get a chance to talk with him again till next week, and I wanted to learn more now ... thank for the help in advance ...
