If anything, DDR wasn't chosen for the server because of its bandwidth. In high-bandwidth server situations, I believe RDRAM and DDR will perform similarly. So arguing about the performance between the two for servers is pointless.

DDR was chosen because of cost-per-MB and because of capacity. There doesn't need to be any more argument.
